How Jaupavi Starts the Year by Investing in Employee Safety, Training, and Well-Being

Jaupavi’s annual training program brings together teams from different departments for a comprehensive schedule that includes operational guidance, accident prevention, the Code of Conduct, and health-related lectures delivered by medical professionals.

At Jaupavi, every new work cycle begins with a clear message: safety, knowledge, and care for people are shared responsibilities.

Traditionally held during the first week of January, the event is part of the Internal Week for Accident Prevention (SIPAT) and covers topics related to daily operations, risk prevention, and quality of life. More than simply providing guidance, the initiative prepares employees to begin the year with updated information and a broader understanding of their role in building a safe work environment.

Safety as Part of Everyday Work

Throughout the program, employees participate in training sessions on Occupational Safety, operational procedures, accident prevention, fire safety, and the company’s Code of Conduct. These topics reinforce procedures that must be followed daily on construction sites, company facilities, during machine and equipment operation, and while traveling for work.

The 2026 program began with a first aid training session led by occupational health nurse Rebecca Rabello Quagliato Serino. The training covered how to identify emergency situations, properly report accidents, and perform initial emergency response procedures. The presentation also included practical demonstrations, helping employees relate the guidance to real-life situations they may encounter in their daily work.

Another topic addressed was occupational risk management, including an introduction to psychosocial risks presented by Cristiane Duarte das Neves. This session broadened the discussion on workplace safety by considering not only physical and operational hazards but also factors related to work organization and employee well-being.

Technical Training for Safer Operations

Technical training also played a key role during the event. One of the sessions focused on NR-12, the Brazilian regulatory standard for machinery and equipment safety.

The training was presented by Julio, from Bauko, together with an external team representing Komatsu, Manitou, and Bomag equipment. The initiative reinforced best practices for equipment operation, accident prevention, and the safe use of machinery employed in the company’s daily activities.

Employees also received guidance on eye health and vision care, an especially important topic in environments that require constant attention, proper use of personal protective equipment, and accurate awareness of surrounding conditions.

Jaupavi’s Code of Conduct was another key pillar of the program, reinforcing the principles that guide professional behavior, internal relationships, ethics, and the individual responsibility of every employee.

This approach aligns with the company’s institutional guidelines, which encourage safe and healthy workplace practices, the reporting of hazardous situations, proper workplace organization, and the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Health Information Is Also a Form of Prevention

In addition to technical and operational content, Jaupavi includes public health lectures in its annual program, providing employees with information that can directly benefit both their own health and that of their families.

This year, three invited physicians led discussions on prevention, diagnosis, and healthcare in different medical specialties.

Dr. Guilherme de Almeida Prado, a urologist, discussed prostate health prevention and care. The session was conducted as an open conversation, allowing employees to ask questions and openly discuss a topic that is essential to men’s health.

His participation helped make medical information more accessible to employees while reinforcing the importance of regular medical check-ups, preventive examinations, and timely healthcare.

Dr. João Marcos Tibúrcio, an implant dentist, delivered a lecture on oral health, dental implants, and preventive dental care. His presentation emphasized that prevention also depends on daily habits, regular dental visits, and paying attention to signs that may indicate the need for treatment.

Dr. Gabriel Marques Favaro presented information about endoscopy, preventive healthcare, and general health awareness. His lecture increased participants’ understanding of the importance of medical investigation and appropriate follow-up whenever symptoms arise or professional recommendations are made.

By bringing healthcare specialists directly into the workplace, Jaupavi makes reliable health information more accessible and encourages employees to adopt a more proactive approach to prevention.

Prevention Beyond the Workplace

The program also addressed broader social and public health issues. Through a partnership with PROERD, employees received information about the risks and consequences of alcohol and drug abuse. The session was conducted by a retired military police officer and focused on the impact addiction can have on health, family relationships, workplace safety, and professional life.

Another important initiative was an active skin cancer screening conducted with nurses from Hospital Amaral Carvalho’s outpatient clinic. Using a dermatoscope, healthcare professionals examined moles and skin spots that might require further medical evaluation.

The activity was complemented by educational guidance on leprosy as part of the January Purple awareness campaign, presented by occupational health nurse Rebecca Rabello. The initiative demonstrated how information, observation, and proper referral can contribute to the early identification of potential health conditions.

Professional Development and Care for People

By combining technical training, behavioral guidance, and healthcare education, Jaupavi’s annual training program expands the traditional concept of employee development.

Preparing a team means more than teaching employees how to perform a task. It also means creating the conditions for each professional to recognize risks, make safer decisions, understand their responsibilities, and take care of their own health.

This commitment is part of Jaupavi’s organizational culture and reflects the company’s ongoing investment in the continuous development of its employees. By beginning each year with a comprehensive training program, the company strengthens procedures, brings teams closer together, and reinforces the principles that guide every stage of its operations.

The initiative represents the continuation of an internal policy that places safety, prevention, ethics, and employee well-being among the organization’s highest priorities. Jaupavi continues investing in the development of better-prepared and more safety-conscious teams, contributing to safer operations, higher-quality services, and continuous care for the people who are part of its history.
